Just an Ordinary All Hallows Eve

Just a normal October night in Richmond. The train passes by. The wind howls in the trees. And the leaves start to fall off in colors of red, orange and yellow. You could say it’s a perfect day in good old Richmond Virginia. But let's be honest. There is no such thing as a perfect day.
Finding a good place to sit under a tree. I watch the little kids play on the playground of my old school. Hearing them chat about what they will be for halloween. Looking through the eyes of a little kid is much different than the ones of a teenager. Suddenly a broad shadow forms over me. My friend Jay sneaks up behind me and screams “BOO!” I turn around though right as he says it. “ Dang It!” he says “ Jay I’ve told you, I can’t be scared.” I say as I wipe the dirt off my jeanes. “Ugh I’m going to scare you someday.” He says with such pride I give him a side glare. “Sure you will.” I say “If you kill me.” I say with a little laugh. Jay and I have been Best friends since 2nd grade.  “ Hey there's this party happening on Halloween.” He says with a grin on his face, “Wanna come?” He asks and puts a smile on his face. I give him a slight frown. I’ve never been a party person and he knows that. “Mmmmm Maybe,” I say “Come on Soph you’ve never gone to a single Halloween party. And don’t give me that ‘ It’s a full moon on All Hallows Eve.’' He says with his eyebrow raised. “ Ugh fine,” I say and Jay let’s out a little yes. “But if we get murdered in the night I’m blaming you.” I say pointing at him.
I finished getting ready in my Yelena Belova costume. Being a Marvel nerd makes way for good costumes. Jay picks me up and we head to the party. Jay is all dressed up as the ghost faced character.  2 hours pass and it’s pretty good. I look out the window and see a broad figure walking to the house. All of a sudden everyone is screaming as the lights come back on. Someone dressed as a cowboy, now has a knife stuck in his chest. Everybody panics as the doors lock and the lights flash again and again more and more people drop like flies. I scramble around the house trying to find Jay to make sure he is safe. All of a sudden “BOO!” And everything goes still. Bodies lay on the ground and once again a broad shadow forms over me. I guess Jay finally got to scare me.
