The Demented THree

“Today was a strange day at work,” Neil says to Frederick, his best friend all the way back from college, as they were walking to Neil’s house at dusk.
“Well do you know what today is?” Frederick asked him.
“Well, I know it’s not Halloween, since that’s in two weeks.”
“Today marks the 100th anniversary since The Demented Three were vanquished.”
“Who are The Demented Three?” Neil asks.
“The Demented Three were known for stealing peoples arms and putting them under the beds of sleeping children, so when they wake up in the morning, they’ll have a nightmarish surprise.”
“Jeez! And there were three of them?”
“Yep. They were three brothers,” Frederick replied.
“I guess this explains why I kept on seeing so many pictures of three black skulls forming a triangle everywhere today.”
“Hold up,” Frederick says, who immediately stops, “Did you say that you saw several pictures of three black skulls forming a triangle?”
“Yeah,” Neil responds.
“Dude, do you know what this means?”
“What does this mean?” Neil asks.
“This means that The Demented Three have returned!”
“Is this a joke?” Neil asks, “Cause if it is, then you got me.”
“No, Neil, this is not a joke.”

By now, the sun had set and the street lights were on. As the two of them continue walking to Neil’s house, they come across a very old, ragged house. The house was brown and had several broken windows, and the front door was completely missing.
“Who do you think lives there?” Neil asks.
“You mean “lived,” right?” Frederick said, hoping that’s what Neil meant.
“Yeah, lived. Anyways, let's go explore it!” Neil exclaimed.
“Are you serious? You actually want to go inside a rundown house at 8:30 at night?”
“Yep! C’mon man, it’ll be fun!”
“I am so gonna regret this,” Frederick whispers to himself.
As they enter the house, they can see that there are vines growing from the gaps in the wood planked floor, and the moldy brown walls show signs of water damage, too.
“Hellooooooo!” Neil calls when they enter the house.
“What are you doing?” Frederick asks him.
“I’m calling for ghosts.”
Immediately, they see two ghosts appear in front of Neil, and a third appear behind him, each a good distance away from him.
Neil’s breath becomes shaky. “Who are you?” he asks.
The one behind him answers in a raspy voice, “We are The Demented Three,” and the three each hold out their arms and Neil’s arms immediately stretch out in front of him. The sound of bones cracking comes from his arms as he winces in pain when his shoulders begin to bleed like crazy. Fortunately, Frederick grabs Neil and drags him out of the house.
“My arms… are they still there?”
“Yes, they are there, and don’t worry, I already called 911, and an ambulance should be on their way now.”
“I’m sorry I went into that house,” Neil says as his head falls back and breathing stops.
