Use of Library Spaces
Ethel Powell Library is an academic space intended for studying and working on homework during the school day; it is not a commons. If students would like to socialize with friends, they should go to the Commons, outside, or to the gym. In addition to the school's Conduct Guidelines for Students, the following guidelines have been adopted to ensure that all members of the Trinity Episcopal School community may enjoy the library:
- One chair per student. No sitting or laying on the floor. No sharing chairs.
- Do not move chairs to other tables. No more than four students per table with the exception of the large group table, which seats six.
- Be considerate of others working in the library. Maintain a respectful noise level and always use headphones when listening to audio.
- Headphone splitters are available for checkout for students who would like to share audio.
- Students should leave the space better than they found it by picking up trash and pushing in chairs at the end of each period.
- The area near the windows is reserved for silent independent study. One student per table.
- Classes and clubs booked in the library have first priority for library space and resources. When available, the CLC, QSR, and Innovation Lab may be used by small groups for school-related collaboration and studying. Doors are to remain open unless students are in the room with a teacher, advisor, or tutor. Remember, these rooms are not soundproof.
- Lunchtime in the Library is reserved for juniors and seniors.
